26 apr 2024 · The dead cap hits are essentially immaterial. They are paying Kirk $90 million for 2 seasons of football, fully guaranteed. Those cap hits from the dead are limited in that their projected cap savings would be $32.5 million in 2026 and $45 million from his scheduled cap hits in year 3 and 4 of his contract, and they will have his potential replacement on a rookie scale contract.

We just paid Kirk $180 million and drafted another QB in the top 10.
