    In 1982, Odetta was an artist-in-residence at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Odetta released two albums in the 20-year period from 1977 to 1997: Movin' It On, in 1987 and a new version of Christmas Spirituals, produced by Rachel Faro, in 1988. Beginning in 1998, she returned to recording and touring.

  6. 26 apr 2023 · Apart from the predictable issue of emotional monotonousness (which is not entirely true — in terms of melodies, tempos, and moods the songs are sufficiently different to not merge into one another), Christmas Spirituals still represents the Odetta / Lee duo at their collaborative peak — and an extremely fresh and innovative perspective on the musical embodi­ment of the Christmas season.

  7. Christmas Spirituals is the name of two albums recorded by the American folk singer Odetta. The first was released in 1960 on Vanguard Records. The second, a new recording of mostly the same songs, produced by Rachel Faro at White Crowe Audio in Burlington, Vermont, was originally released in 1987 on Alcazar Records and was reissued digitally in 2007 on Ashe Records.
