Christopher Oram ha studiato al West Sussex College of Art and Design e successivamente si è perfezionato collaborando con gli scenografi Anthony Ward e Ian MacNeil nelle produzioni di Assassins alla Donmar Warehouse (1992), Oliver! al London Palladium e Un ispettore in casa Birling al National Theatre (1994). Oram is an Artistic Associate on 'Plays at the Garrick' in the forthcoming Kenneth Branagh season in the West End. He is also a Companion of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, and is currently on the committee of the Linbury Prize for stage design.
