Claude George Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (March 14, 1855 - November 7, 1944). Bowes-Lyon was the maternal grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II . He was born at Lowndes Square in London , the son of the 13th Earl and his wife, the former Frances Dora Smith.
