29 apr 2022 · “Close (To the Edit)” was released in various permutations, an endless remix of a remix. The B side, A Time to Hear, is a pastiche of other material from The Art of Noise including chopped-up Italian dialogue. There’s even a reference to “Close (To the Edit)” toward the end of it.
Art of Noise (also The Art of Noise) were a British avant-garde synth-pop group formed in early 1983 by engineer/producer Gary Langan and programmer J. J. Jeczalik, along with keyboardist/arranger Anne Dudley, producer Trevor Horn, and music journalist Paul Morley. [2] .
