Konrad Grebel was the chief founder of the Swiss Brethren, an Anabaptist movement centred on Zürich. His humanist education at Basel, Vienna, and Paris led him gradually to oppose the conservative Swiss Reformer Huldrych Zwingli, whom he had earlier supported.
