5 mar 2018 · The Dark Crystal was shot on 35mm film and has been scanned, cleaned up and finished as a 4K Digital Intermediate thanks to Sony Pictures. It is this 4K DI that has been used here for this Ultra HD Blu-ray .

1 gen 2018 · Shot in 35mm and framed in 2.39:1 widescreen, this was another comparatively early era Nolan film shot before he started playing with IMAX and shifting aspect ratios (with the subsequent The Dark Knight), and, as with the preceding Batman Begins (and the later Inception, his only subsequent 35mm-only production), it's obviously softer in style than the IMAX efforts.
23 nov 2024 · The picture is so good in comparison, crystal clear sharp 4K material just sparkles. I watched “Last of the Mohicans” which is normally a dark film but with the W90 and HDR (Imguesding) the picture was vibrant and made the movie look like it was produced in 2024.

30 lug 2020 · 2) In a dark room environment, my calibrated OLED display is fully fit to use whatever gamma that is correct, but I will most probably use 2.2 instead, since I want to se differencies in dark and darker areas. To wrap it up: There is no general optimal gamma setting. If any setting should be flipped between movies, it is gamma.
21 giu 2009 · Detail is a much tougher commodity to assess, I'm afraid. With a great deal of the film taking place within the wooded shadows of the night and the dark tunnels beneath the ground, many things are obviously obscured. But, and this is the important thing to bear in mind, there doesn't appear to be any information lost in this transfer.
9 nov 2024 · We see far more definition and granularity within dark and mid-range tones than with peak brightness. The Philips OLED+959 measures in at 1921 nits on a 1% window, 1761 at 2%, 1486 at 5% and on an industry-standard 10% window it measures 1151 nits.
