David Robert Moorcroft OBE DL (born 10 April 1953) is a former middle-distance and long-distance runner from England, and former world record holder for 5,000 metres. His athletic career spanned the late-1970s and 1980s. He subsequently served as the Chief Executive of UK Athletics from 1997 to 2007.

David Moorcroft, meglio conosciuto con il diminutivo Dave ( Liverpool, 16 marzo 1947 ), è un ex calciatore inglese, di ruolo difensore . Carriera. Moorcroft si formò nell' Everton e nel Preston N.E. per poi passare al Skelmersdale Utd. Nel settembre 1967 viene ingaggiato dagli statunitensi del Dallas Tornado .

9 lug 2022 · David Robert Moorcroft was born in Coventry in 1953 and took up athletics at 11, encouraged by his father Robert and he began to show promise as a distance runner, when he ran 4.04 for 1500m at 16. Meeting Scottish coach John Anderson was a turning point for Moorcroft.
