David Mark Joseph Morrissey (born 21 June 1964) is an English actor and filmmaker. Noted for the meticulous preparation and research he undertakes for each role, he has been described by the British Film Institute as one of the most versatile English actors of his generation.
David Morrissey started acting at Everyman's Youth Theatre in Liverpool, where he was born and raised. He made an auspicious debut in One Summer (1983) , a series about two Liverpool runaways. Following a degree at RADA, he worked with the theatre company Cheek By Jowl.

David Mark Morrissey (born 21 June 1964) is an English actor and film director. He was born in Liverpool. He decided to be an actor after he saw the film Kes. He became known in England after he started acting in One Summer in 1983 when he was 18.
