Van Paassen's autobiography, Days of Our Years, published in 1939, detailed many events that he could not mention in his earlier newspaper reports. It was the bestselling nonfiction book in the United States for almost two years.
Days of Our Years, by Pierre van Paassen (read 4 Dec 2017) This was the best selling book in non-fiction in 1939 and I remembered its fame when I saw it in a library and so decided to read it. It is autobiographical, the author having been born on 7 Feb 1895 in the Netherlands and his account of his youth there is kind of lyrical and moving.
