22 set 2023 · A parade has been held at RAF Shawbury to celebrate the graduation of 22 aircrew from No.1 Flying Training School. The completion of training, which included the award of the flying badge (“wings”) to those eligible, represents a significant step in the careers of trainees who will now proceed to operational conversion (OCU) training on frontline helicopter types.

19 apr 2024 · The new helicopters will be delivered next year and will serve in parallel with 29 H135s and seven H145s in the Defence Helicopter Flying School which trains all UK military pilots as part of MFTS at RAF Shawbury. The enlarged H145 fleet brings economies of support costs and substantially reduces pilot conversion training time.
