19 apr 2024 · “We're Still Here” is, on one hand, a semi-lighthearted, gospel blues tune about somehow surviving and thriving as a couple of oddballs in the very fickle music business but it's also, hopefully, a serious anthem for everyone, whether they're musicians or not, about surviving the day-to-day grind and setbacks of everyday existence to live life as best we can without doubts or fears.
9 mag 2024 · In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dave Alvin revealed that the band drew inspiration for Dark Night from two events that had occurred in the late 1970s. The first was the murder of a young woman in Los Angeles, whose body was found in a dumpster. The second was a confrontation between Dave and a group of men on a dark and empty street.
