Butch Hancock (Lubbock, 12 luglio 1945) è un cantautore statunitense di genere country folk. Come membro dei Flatlanders ha contribuito allo sviluppo del progressive country durante gli anni settanta. Ha poi pubblicato vari album da solista con l'etichetta indipendente Rainlight.
Diamond Hill is Butch Hancock's third album, and his most polished effort up to that date. Where "West Texas Waltzes" focused on stripped down songs, "Wind's Dominion" was a drawn-out double album with cluttered short-story songs and strange arrangements.
