Dean first worked as a railway apprentice but at age 16 turned to professional soccer and at 17 played for the Tranmere Rovers.

Goals 41, 42 and 43 came at Anfield in a 3-3 draw, but then a four game drought when nobody in an Everton jersey scored seemed to put the brakes on the record-charge.

1 mar 2020 · Today we are remembering the passing of William Ralph ‘Dixie’ Dean. The greatest goalscorer the world has ever seen died at his beloved Goodison Park on 1 March 1980. His record of 383 goals for the Blues in 433 games will never be beaten and he is quite rightly revered as a genuine Club legend.
