For her second album, Annie tells the world DON'T STOP, from the wild drumming on "Hey Annie" to the sugary pop of "My Love is Better." The shimmering guitars on "Bad Times" add a brightness, while the rock push peps up "I Don't Like Your Band," even if it carries more than a faint trace of her earlier hit, "Chewing Gum."
Don't Stop has a very different energy than Annie's excellent debut, Anniemal. The previous record blends her gentle melancholy with bright, infectious beats. She softly reflects on intimacy and death through fantastic hooks and sentimental imagery. Through all of this, she is always having fun. The music radiates joy and feels instantly familiar.

4 dic 2009 · Standout "I Don't Like Your Band" is the "Bubblegum" of this record. "The stuff you play / It sounds so passé / Don't get me wrong / I like you but I don't like your band." Annie is breaking up with him, not because of some innate incompatibility of natures, but because of the vagaries of pop taste, whining "Get yourself a sequencer."
