Donald L. Heck (January 2, 1929 – February 23, 1995) was an American comics artist best known for co-creating the Marvel Comics characters Iron Man, the Wasp, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Wonder Man and for his long run penciling the Marvel superhero-team series The Avengers during the 1960s Silver Age of comic books.

Donald L. "Don" Heck (1929-1995) was an American comics artist best known for co-creating the Marvel Comics characters Iron Man and the Wasp, and for his long run penciling the Marvel superhero-team series The Avengers during the 1960s Silver Age of comic books.
By 1979 he worked almost exclusively for DC, although he returned to Marvel in 1988 for a few projects. Heck died of lung cancer on February 23, 1995. He was known for his ability to depict glamorous places and people, and for his willingness to take on last-minute assignments.

In 1971, Don Heck was considered the best renderer of attractive women in comics by Jack Kirby, who suggested him to DC as an artist for 'Batgirl'. Heck drew this strip for several years, and also did other DC titles like 'Justice League of America', 'Steel', 'The Indestructible Man', 'Wonder Woman' and 'The Flash'.
