Donmar Warehouse, London. Donmar Warehouse is a small not-for-profit theatre in the Covent Garden area of London, with a capacity of 250. Under the artistic leadership of Michael Grandage, Donmar Warehouse has presented some of London’s most memorable award-winning theatrical experiences, as well as garnered critical acclaim at home and abroad.
It seems that Donmar Warehouse’s objective when staging this play was to demonstrate how power structures can exist in locations separated from society, namely on an island and in prisons. Unfortunately for the Donmar Warehouse, all the pieces in the production’s vision did not completely come together to highlight something particularly revelatory about the text or women’s prisons.

Josie Rourke returns to the work of Cy Coleman, who wrote the music for City of Angels, with the Broadway classic Sweet Charity. With choreography from the world-renowned Wayne McGregor, Rourke reunites with Anne-Marie Duff as Charity, and Arthur Darvill makes his Donmar debut as Oscar, for her farewell production as Donmar Artistic Director.
