The Doug Sahm And Band horn section. I think for Dylan, Sahm’s appeal was his fearlessness as a bandleader. He could play conjunto one night, juke joint R&B the next, tackle everything from Bob Wills and Lefty Frizzell to James Brown and Jimi Hendrix, and have it all make sense.
