  2. Douglas Haig ( 1861 – 1928) var en britisk offiser og feltmarskalk under den første verdenskrig. Han kommanderte Den britiske ekspedisjonsstyrken (BEF) fra 1915 til krigens slutt og var kjent som den britiske offiseren som hadde flest tap. På grunn av dette (2 millioner av hans menn døde under krigen) ble han gitt tilnavnet «Butcher Haig».
