Duncan Campbell Scott CMG FRSC (August 2, 1862 – December 19, 1947) was a Canadian civil servant and poet and prose writer. With Charles G.D. Roberts, Bliss Carman, and Archibald Lampman, he is classed as one of Canada's Confederation Poets.

8 apr 2024 · Duncan Campbell Scott was a Canadian administrator, poet, and short-story writer, best known at the end of the 20th century for advocating the assimilation of Canada’s First Nations peoples. In 1879 Scott joined the Canadian Department of Indian Affairs; he reached the highest levels of this agency.
Duncan Campbell Scott was the deputy superintendent of the Department of Indian Affairs from 1913 to 1932 and published nine volumes of poetry from 1893 to 1947. However, he is perhaps best remembered as an advocate of the assimilation of Indigenous peoples.
