Duncan William Ferguson Lamont (17 June 1918 – 19 December 1978) was a British actor. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, and brought up in Scotland, he had a long and successful career in film and television, appearing in a variety of high-profile productions.
Duncan Lamont (4 July 1931 – 2 July 2019) was a saxophonist, composer and bandleader active for many years in London's Soho jazz scene. His soundtracks include the music to the 1970s children's television animation series Mr Benn . Early career. Lamont was born in Greenock, the son of a shipyard worker.

Duncan Lamont was born on July 4, 1931 in Greenock, Scotland. Lamont began his career in the music industry leading his own band as a trumpet player in Scotland, which won him recognition from the illustrious publication Melody Maker in 1951.
