Earl Winfield Spencer Jr. (September 20, 1888 – May 29, 1950) was a U.S. Navy pilot who served as the first commanding officer of Naval Air Station San Diego. He was the first husband of Wallis Simpson, who later married Edward VIII .

Earl Winfield Spencer Jr. was a pioneering U. S. Navy pilot, he was the first husband of Wallis Simpson future wife of the former King Edward VIII. Known as Win, he was born in Kinsley, son of Earl Winfield Spencer Sr. a prominent Chicago stockbroker, the former Agnes Lucy Hughes of Jersey.

Wallis, Duchess of Windsor (born Bessie Wallis Warfield, later Spencer and then Simpson; June 19, 1896 – April 24, 1986) was an American socialite and wife of former king Edward VIII. Their intention to marry and her status as a divorcée caused a constitutional crisis that led to Edward's abdication .
