  4. Biography. Edmund James Burke Roche, 5th Baron Fermoy (20 March 1939-19 August 1984) was the son of Edmund Maurice Burke Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy and Ruth Sylvia Gill. He married Lavinia Frances Elizabeth Pitman, daughter of Major John Pitman and Elizabeth Cattanach Donaldson, on 22 June 1964.

Lord Fermoy collapsed in a shop at King's Lynn, Norfolk, in June 1955 and died three weeks later. He was succeeded by his only son, Edmund.
