  4. Edward O'Neill, 2nd Baron O'Neill of Shane's Castle was born on 31 December 1839. He was the son of William O'Neill, 1st Baron O'Neill of Shane's Castle and Henrietta Torrens. He married Lady Louisa Katherine Emma Cochrane, daughter of Thomas Barnes Cochrane, 11th Earl of Dundonald and Louisa Harriet Mackinnon, on 30 June 1873.

  5. 6 nov 2014 · This was not O’Neill’s first experience of military action, as he had also taken part in the Boer War. Born on 19 September 1876, he was the eldest surviving son of Edward, 2nd Baron O’Neill, of Shane’s Castle, county Antrim, and his wife, Lady Louisa, whose father was the 11th Earl of Dundonald.
