Edward Weston's importance lies in his ability not only to change how viewers saw common objects, but also how we think about the photographic medium itself. In commemoration of these accomplishments, the artist was officially inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum in 1984.

Si interesso subito alla fotografia iniziando a lavorare principalmente in California Successivamente si trasferì in Messico e dal 1923 al 1926 lavorò insieme alla famosa fotografa Tina Modotti , con cui intraprese anche una relazione.
