Egon von Furstenberg nasce a Losanna nel 1946, dal Principe Tassilo von Furstenberg e Clara, la maggiore dei fratelli Agnelli. Viene battezzato dal cardinale Angelo Roncalli (futuro papa Giovanni XXIII), padrino lo zio, Gianni Agnelli, vera icona di stile a livello internazionale.
