4 ago 2017 · Born the Hon. Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon. Lady Elizabeth was the ninth child and fourth daughter of Lord Claude George Bowes-Lyon and Lady Nina Cecilia Bowes-Lyon, Lord and Lady Glamis. The family divided its time between St Paul's Waldenbury in Hertfordshire, Glamis Castle in Scotland and 20 St James's Square in London.
Marriage. She married HRH Prince Albert, Duke of York (son of George V and Queen Mary), in Westminster Abbey on 26 April 1923. He later succeeded as King George VI when his brother Edward VIII abdicated. They had two children, Elizabeth, who succeeded to the throne in 1952, and Margaret Rose.
