He was the son of Wartislaw IX of Pomerania-Wolgast and Sophia of Saxe-Lauenburg (d. 1462, daughter of Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg).

Eric II or Erich II (between 1418 and 1425 – 5 July 1474) was a member of the House of Pomerania (also known as the Griffins) and was the ruling Duke of Pomerania-Wolgast from 1457 to 1474. He was the son of Wartislaw IX of Pomerania-Wolgast and Sophia, daughter of Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg.

Eric II (3 settembre 1483 – 22 dicembre 1508) fu un duca di Meclemburgo, era un figlio di Magnus II, duca di Meclemburgo, e di sua moglie Sofia di Pomerania-Wolgast. Eric regnò sul Meclemburgo-Schwerin congiuntamente ai suoi fratelli Enrico V e Alberto VII e suo zio Baldassarre dopo la morte di suo padre il 27 dicembre 1503.

Caterina di Pomerania-Wolgast ( 1465 – 1526) figlia di Eric II di Pomerania-Wolgast, e quindi appartenente al casato dei Greifen, e di Sofia di Pomerania-Stolp fu Duchessa di Brunswick-Lüneburg come moglie di Enrico IV di Brunswick-Lüneburg . Da questo matrimonio nacquero 9 figli: Cristoforo, arcivescovo di Brema (circa 1487 - 1558)

Eric II, duke of Pomerania-Wolgast, was the son of Duke Wartislaw IX of Pomerania and his wife Sophie of Saxe-Lauenburg. He was born between 1418 and 1425 [1] . Erich II's first marriage with Margarete of Mecklenburg, daughter of duke Heinrich of Mecklenburg-Stargard [1], is uncertain and has been refuted by historian Adolf Hofmeister [2] .
