Ernest of Brunswick-Lüneburg (German: Ernst der Bekenner; 27 June 1497 – 11 January 1546), also frequently called Ernest the Confessor, was duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and a champion of the Protestant cause during the early years of the Protestant Reformation.

Ernest (German, Ernst) (1497-1546), Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg from 1520 until his death in 1546, called "the Confessor." Ernest was born on 27 June 1497, the son of Henry I, Duke of Lüneburg, and Margarete of Saxony, the daughter of Ernest, Elector of Saxony.

Ernesto Augusto di Brunswick-Lüneburg è stato un vescovo luterano tedesco, duca di Brunswick-Lüneburg. Governò sul principato di Calenberg alla suddivisione del ducato paterno. Venne nominato principe-elettore del Sacro Romano Impero nel 1692, ma morì prima che la sua nomina divenisse effettiva.
Ernesto I di Brunswick-Grubenhagen (1297 circa – 9 marzo 1361) fu duca di Brunswick-Lüneburg e principe di Grubenhagen dal 1322 alla sua morte.
