Ernesto I di Brunswick-Lüneburg, conosciuto come Ernesto il Confessore, in tedesco Ernst der Bekenner (Uelzen, 15 giugno 1497 – Celle, 11 gennaio 1546), fu duca di Brunswick-Lüneburg e un paladino della causa protestante durante i primi anni della Riforma.
Ernest of Brunswick-Lüneburg (German: Ernst der Bekenner; 27 June 1497 – 11 January 1546), also frequently called Ernest the Confessor, was duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and a champion of the Protestant cause during the early years of the Protestant Reformation.

Ernest and his brother Otto (24 August 1495 – 11 August 1549) became rulers of Brunswick-Lüneburg after the abdication of their father, Henry I. Ernest became the sole ruler in 1527 after Otto's retirement. Ernest died on 11 January 1546 and was succeeded by his son, Francis Otto, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg (20 June 1530 – 29 April 1559).
