24 mar 2021 · The Ethel and Albert radio series was by the incredibly prolific Peg Lynch, who wrote and acted in the series. The series started in the early 1940s and would eventually move to television. The program was a husband and wife comedy, written in natural conversation.
Ethel and Albert head to their lakeside cottage for a vacation. When the learn that Albert's single secretary is staying nearby the Arbuckles decide to play matchmaker.
Few shows captured the everyday, ordinary conversations of a married couple as accurately as Ethel and Albert. The carefully executed scripts of this American domestic comedy series were so realistic, many viewers thought the dialogue was improvised by an actual husband and wife.
