Based on a real incident, the ABC TV movie Fire: Trapped on the 37th Floor (available here on YouTube) recounts the events of May 4, 1988, when a fire broke out on the twelfth floor of the First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles, California, a building in which the sprinkler system was turned off.

Synopsis. It is May 4, 1988. At 7:30 am, Los Angeles residents are starting morning commutes to work, and the firefighters of Los Angeles City Fire Department Ladder 3 and Engine 203 are returning to their hall after dealing with an auto accident on the southbound Harbor Freeway.
Overview. A fire breaks out on the 12th floor of the First Interstate Tower building in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Paul and Susan are working late on the 37th floor, along with cleaning staff, security, and building engineers, some of whom are installing sprinklers.
