Four Kids and It is very opposite of magical: what should be a light-hearted family adventure has a very cynical, mean-spirited tone, largely thanks to a cast of remarkably unlikeable characters, with Matthew Goode and Paula Patton faring particularly badly as the kids' totally inept parents.
