Francis Scott, 2nd Duke of Buccleuch, KT, FRS (11 January 1695 – 22 April 1751) was a Scottish nobleman.
Biografia. Francis Scott era figlio di Walter Scott, I conte di Buccleuch, e di sua moglie Mary Hay, figlia a sua volta di Francis Hay, IX conte di Erroll, uno dei principali cospiratori cattolici per la detronizzazione di Elisabetta I d'Inghilterra.
L'attuale duca di Buccleuch, Richard Scott, il X duca, è il più grande proprietario terriero del Regno Unito ed è presidente del Buccleuch Group, una compagnia con interessi nel commercio di proprietà terriere e agricole, cibo e bevande.

Francis Scott, 2nd Earl of Buccleuch (21 December 1626 – 22 November 1651) was a Scottish peer. He was the son of Walter Scott, 1st Earl of Buccleuch and his wife, Lady Mary Hay, daughter of Francis Hay, 9th Earl of Erroll. Upon the death of his father in 1633, Scott succeeded to the earldom of Buccleuch.
The substantial origin of the ducal house of the Scotts of Buccleuch dates back to the large grants of lands in Scotland to Sir Walter Scott of Kirkurd and Buccleuch, a border chief, by King James II, in consequence of the fall of the 8th Earl of Douglas (1452), but the family traced their descent back to a Sir Richard le Scott (1240–1285).
Biografia. È il figlio di Sir James Scott, conte di Dalkeith (figlio di James Scott, I duca di Monmouth e Anne Scott, prima duchessa di Buccleuch ) e di Lady Henrietta Hyde, figlia di Laurence Hyde, I conte di Rochester. Fu battezzato il 20 gennaio 1694/95 nella chiesa di St. James, Westminster .
