Vita e attività. Avvocato, entrò nel 1910 nella vita politica e fu eletto senatore democratico dello stato di New York, antica roccaforte del partito repubblicano. Dal 1913 al 1920 fu sottosegretario di stato alla Marina nel governo di Wilson, del quale condivideva le vedute di politica estera.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was born in Hyde Park, New York on January 30, 1882. He was the son of James Roosevelt and Sara Delano Roosevelt. His parents and private tutors provided him with almost all his formative education.
