28 giu 2023 · Abong started out in 1980’s Rhode Island as a drummer, bassist and guitarist in a number of hardcore punk bands, and spent the early 1990s playing bass for 4AD bands Throwing Muses and then Belly. He then put music as a profession on hold for academic pursuits, earning a PhD in Humanities and serving as a professor at various universities for eight years before returning to music.
18 nov 2020 · Fred Abong was especially busy throughout 2018 and 2019. He re-ignited his on/off solo career with the excellent ‘Homeless’ EP, which subsequently saw him touring as support with his old Throwing Muses bandmate Kristin Hersh.
