So I’m not going overboard recounting his Fred Abong origins in preparation for maybe seeing him put out some bass talent with the Kristin Hersh Trio – just do it. Or wait until the guy comes around playing solo, maybe. Either way it’s totally worth the effort. Versatility rocks, and so does Fred.

Ha suonato la batteria in gruppi hardcore negli anni ottanta per poi passare al basso, prima nei Throwing Muses poi nei Belly con Tanya Donelly e oggi ricopre lo stesso ambito ruolo nel Kristin Hersh Electric Trio dopo un periodo piuttosto lungo in cui alla musica ha preferito gli studi universitari e l’insegnamento.

9 apr 2024 · New Orleans-based alternative folk-rock artist Fred Abong presents ‘Heaven’, the first taste of his new ‘Blindness’ album, to be released on May 9 via Moochin’ About Records. While most famously associated with the bass guitar, Abong wrote this material for this album on the piano, effectively opening up a new compositional and emotional space for him.
