Frederick IV, Duke of Legnica (20 April 1552 – 27 March 1596) was Duke of Legnica from 1571 until his death (as a co-ruler of his elder brother during 1571–1576 and 1580–1581). He was the third but second surviving son of Frederick III, Duke of Liegnitz , by his wife Katharina, daughter of Henry V, Duke of Mecklenburg .

The Battle of Liegnitz on 15 August 1760 saw Frederick the Great's Prussian Army defeat the Austrian army under Ernst von Laudon during the Third Silesian War (part of the Seven Years' War). The armies collided around the town of Liegnitz (now Legnica, Poland) in Lower Silesia.

Frédéric IV de Legnica (né le 20 avril 1552, mort le 27 mars 1596) est duc de Legnica de 1571 jusqu'à sa mort il règne conjointement avec son frère ainé de 1571 à 1576 puis seul de 1576 à 1580 de nouveau corégent en 1580 et enfin seul de 1581 à 1596.
Frederik IV was the King of Denmark-Norway from 1699; son of Christian V and Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. Married for the first time in 1695 to Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, with whom he had Christian (VI); for the second time in 1721 soon after the death of Louise, to Anna Sophie Reventlow, which created much strife within the Royal Family.
