Frostfire. After the suicide of a friend, the depressed Nelson Nagarauk goes home to his Inuit family at 69 degrees north. On his way back from an ice bear hunt, he finds a half-frozen Russian woman and takes her in. Frostfire plot. Unlike his brother Brendan, Nelson Nagarauk wants to study and break with traditional Eskimo life. During a bear hunt, the two quarrel and Nelson returns home alone. Along the way, he finds the unconscious Vera, a young Russian woman who works at the nearby weather station.
