27 ott 2011 · At the recommendation of a cousin in England, we tracked down some David Walliams books, and Gangsta Granny was the first we read. I read this to my 8 year old son and we both got a kick out of the characters and the plot twists and the irreverent and saucy language. David Walliams reminds me a lot of Roald Dahl which is high praise.

Die Illustrationen in 'Gangsta Granny' von Tony Ross sind reizend, aber sie sind nicht ganz vergleichbar mit denen aus der wunderbaren Feder von Quentin Blake in 'Mr Stink'. Beide Bücher bieten viel Spaß und Spaß, beide waren sehr beliebt und beide haben TV-Adaptionen hervorgebracht - aber keines ist ganz in der gleichen Liga wie die des großen Roald Dahl.

Quindi se l'età consigliabile sarà maggiore in base al livello di inglese come seconda lingua (fra B1 e B2), la storia potrebbe risultare un po' banale. Dall'altro lato Gangsta Granny è una bella opportunità per venire a contatto con un mondo e un linguaggio che a scuola non si ha tempo (o il fegato) di trattare.
