Gerald Legge, 9th Earl of Dartmouth. On 10 April 1923, he married Roma Ernestine Horlick, the eldest daughter of Sir Ernest Horlick, 2nd Baronet. Together they had two children, Gerald Legge, 9th Earl of Dartmouth (1924–1997), and Hon. Heather Margaret Mary (born 1925, married Rognvald Herschell, 3rd Baron Herschell).
William Legge, 2nd Earl of Dartmouth (June 20,1731 - July 7,1801) was a British statesman who is most remembered for his part in the government before and during the American Revolution. For King George III, Legge was the 2nd Secretary of State for the Colonies, serving from 1772 to 1775.
William Legge, 1st Earl of Dartmouth (1672-1750), only son of George Legge, 1st Baron Dartmouth, succeeded to his fathers barony in 1691.
