Ghost in the Noonday Sun. Ghost in the Noonday Sun is a 1974 British comedy movie directed by Peter Medak and based on the novel by Sid Fleischman. It stars Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Anthony Franciosa, Clive Revill, Peter Boyle, Rosemary Leach, James Villers and was distributed by Columbia Pictures .
Genre: Fiction, Short Stories. Published: 1976. A former American soldier stays in post World War II Europe as a ventriloquist, having little success until he meets Avrom Amos. Avrom is really a dybbuk, the ghost of a 12-year old boy killed by Nazis, back now to avenge his own and other children’s deaths.
Watched this film after viewing the excellent Peter Medak documentary, "The Ghost of Peter Sellers" about the disasters and endless struggles to make this Sellers film. Ghost in the Noonday Sun is awful, patchy story, under developed characters, weak script and lacklustre performances which is put into context after you watching the excellent documentary about this film instead.

19 ott 2015 · I love his verve, his wit, his complications, his plucky characters. The Ghost in the Noonday Sun had all that, but perhaps in a lesser quantity than I had hoped. The lad Oliver is told that he should have to ability to see ghosts even in daylight. For that reason, he is swiped by pirates to find the ghost of the guardian of a buried treasure.
