Il 10 settembre 1555 a Riquewihr, Barbara sposò Giorgio I di Württemberg-Mömpelgard, figlio di Enrico di Württemberg e di Eva di Salm. Ella aveva 19 anni e suo marito 57. Andò a vivere nel castello di Montbéliard nel principato di Montbéliard, un'enclave tedesco luterano in Francia. Giorgio e Barbara ebbero un solo figlio:

George I of Württemberg-Montbéliard, nicknamed "the Cautious" (4 February 1498 at Urach Castle in Bad Urach – 17 July 1558 at Kirkel Castle in Kirkel) was a son of Henry of Württemberg and his second wife, the Countess Eva of Salm. In 1514, he received the County of Harburg, the city of Riquewihr and Bilstein Castle.

The Princely County of Montbéliard (French: Comté princier de Montbéliard; German: Grafschaft Mömpelgard), was a princely county of the Holy Roman Empire seated in the city of Montbéliard in the present-day Franche-Comté region of France. From 1444 onwards it was held by the House of Württemberg. It had full voting rights in the Reichstag.
