The college system at York is a great way to meet people and make friends, as each college has there own sports teams and social events. Goodricke has 2 main common rooms to organise social events, and each flat has a large kitchen great for socialising with flat mates. I had a shared bedroom, which had loads of space, as well as an ensuite.

York's first two Colleges, Derwent and Langwith were founded in 1965, and were followed by Alcuin and Vanbrugh in 1967. [5] Goodricke and Wentworth were founded shortly afterwards, in 1968 and 1972 respectively. After 1972 the construction of Colleges ceased until 1990 with the foundation of James College, York.
