Our school was voted the best boarding school in the UK in 2021 and described as 'outstanding' and 'sector-leading' in its most recent inspection. Gordonstoun has been the world leader in character education for over 80 years and was the birthplace of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

26 mar 2021 · Gordonstoun was founded by Dr. Kurt Hahn in 1934 as a learning institution where young people could truly thrive. In 2019, HM Inspectors would put the school to a rigorous test, concluding that “the extensive range of opportunities for personal achievements in the senior school, as part of the Gordonstoun broader curriculum is outstanding.”.
Gordonstoun is one of the leading full boarding schools in the UK. Our buildings are set within a safe and beautiful 200 acre wooded campus, within walking distance of the expansive beaches of the Moray Firth, and within easy reach of the stunning Scottish Highlands. It is this location which lets us deliver our uniquely broad curriculum of indoor and outdoor learning.
