Dans cet essai devenu célèbre, il narre sa rencontre avec un artiste fameux, qui lui explique voir dans les danses qu’on fait exécuter aux marionnettes une forme d’art supérieure – les plus grands danseurs ne lui semblent pas pouvoir l’égaler.
