Haguenau (French: ⓘ; Alsatian: Hàwenau [ˈhaːvənau̯] or Hàjenöi [ˈhaːjənœi̯]; German: Hagenau; historical English: Hagenaw) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department of France, of which it is a sub-prefecture. It is second in size in the Bas-Rhin only to Strasbourg, some 30 km (19 mi) to the south.
Haguenau est située à 140 m d'altitude à vingt-huit kilomètres au nord de Strasbourg. Elle fait partie du pays d'Alsace du Nord. Communes limitrophes. Avec vingt-six communes limitrophes, Haguenau fait partie des communes les plus entourées de France en nombre de communes limitrophes.
Hagenau (amtlich französisch Haguenau [agˈno], elsässisch Hàwenàu) ist eine französische Stadtgemeinde im Nordosten der Europäischen Gebietskörperschaft Elsass in der Region Grand Est. Mit 35.715 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2021) ist Hagenau nach Straßburg die zweitgrößte Gemeinde im Département Bas-Rhin, dem historischen Unterelsass.
Haguenau, town, Bas-Rhin département, Grand Est région, northeastern France. It lies along the Moder River just south of the Forest of Haguenau, north of Strasbourg. The town developed in the 12th century around a castle on an island in the river and was a favourite residence of the Holy Roman emperor Frederick I.
