Hohenlohe o von Hohenlohe è una famiglia principesca tedesca. Regnanti dapprima sulla Contea di Hohenlohe , i due rami della famiglia vennero elevati al rango di Principe del Sacro Romano Impero rispettivamente nel 1744 e nel 1764 ; nel 1806 essi persero i propri domini, che entrarono a far parte del Regno di Baviera e del Regno del Württemberg .

1855 ließ er in der Schlosskirche Mergentheim das Standbild seines Vorfahren Heinrich von Hohenlohe, Hochmeister des Deutschen Ordens, aufstellen. Bereits 1854 ließ er die Deutschordenskapelle zu Mergentheim restaurieren und den Grabstein für Heinrichs Bruder Andreas, ebenfalls ein Deutschordensritter und 1250 Stifter der Kapelle, erneuern.
Biographie. H., bereits 1218 Domherr in Würzburg, trat bald nach 1219 in den Deutschen Orden ein, wie seine Brüder Andreas und Friedrich. Damit begann die sehr fruchtbare Verbindung des Ordens mit dem Geschlecht von Hohenlohe, durch dessen Vergabungen der Orden die Grundlagen zur Kommende Mergentheim erhielt.

Heinrich von Hohenlohe was a German nobleman who served as the seventh Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from 1244 to 1249. He was the son of one of the richest and most powerful feudal lords in Württemberg and had four brothers and one sister.
