Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff. General Dimitrios Choupis was born in 1965 at Nea Kerdyllia, Serres. He was admitted to the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) in 1983 and graduated in 1987 as Signals Second Lieutenant. As a fourth class cadet (1986-1987) he was First Captain of the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon).
From 28 June to 19 July 2021, the Hellenic Military Academy conducted summer training in the area of Kanapitsa-Litohoro. The training included individual tactics, fighter techniques, and Squad and Platoon-level exercises, day and night, involving personnel and assets of the XXIV Armoured Brigade "1st CAVALRY REG.
