Helmuth Karl Bernhard von Moltke, ab 1870 Graf von Moltke, genannt Moltke der Ältere, volkstümlich Der große Schweiger (* 26. Oktober 1800 in Parchim; † 24. April 1891 in Berlin ), war ein preußischer Generalfeldmarschall. Als Chef des Generalstabs hatte er wesentlichen Anteil am Erfolg Preußens in den Deutschen Einigungskriegen.
